CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - The United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce (Chamber) passed a resolution in support of moving forward with the environmental studies needed to construct a second causeway accessing North Padre Island and add the project to TxDoT’s ten year plan.
The Chamber's Infrastructure & Mobility recommended approval to the Chamber Board of Directors, which voted to approve the resolution on Friday, February 24th.
“Padre and Mustang Islands are some of the most popular tourist destinations in the state which makes the islands a thriving area of growth for businesses. A second causeway will create easier access to the islands and create a second evacuation route in times of pending natural disasters. We applaud the efforts of Chairman Todd Hunter and plan to support HB 2894 which was recently filed,” said Chamber President and CEO Al Arreola, Jr.
